What was your initial reaction to finding out you were going to play Jack Murdock on Daredevil?
Joy. I think I jumped up in my kitchen and scared my downstairs neighbors. Then I called my Dad to share the news. He's been a constant support and guide for me and it was great to share with him. Then I had to get him a Netflix account.
Prior to getting the role did you read any of the comics? Were you aware of the character Daredevil and his story? Since it seems most people only know him from the 2003 film adaption.
A few comics but new to the Daredevil world. Honored to be in this story.
Did you do anything in particular to prepare for the role?
I box already but I hit the gym really hard before the shoot.
How was it working with Skylar Gaertner? Your scenes with him were so well executed and strong. Seems like there was good acting chemistry there.
Skylar is a pro. Fun, committed gentleman. He's gonna do a lot in this business. We had a lot of fun on some of the long days.
When joining the cast did it ever occur to you what a success the show could become? It's only just released season one this year and it's already Netflix's most watched show. What are your thoughts on that?
Wow that's the first I am hearing that news but that's awesome! So great that so many people enjoy it. The whole team was in love with this story - with these people - it was contagious. Every department caught that energy and it's just great to have it be enjoyed by so many.
Do you have any upcoming projects that you are excited for and can speak about?
Right now gearing up for a new series called "The Land of the Outlaws". It's from Tip Toe Productions. Project is gonna be a blast - guns, car chases, tight script - it's like Mad Max meets Unforgiven.
